Are care agencies inspected?
Agencies providing personal care in England must be registered with the Care Quality Commission and are inspected. Most rated agencies hold a rating of Outstanding, Good, Requires improvement or Inadequate.
Agency carers or a directly employed carer?
An agency arranges cover, training and supervision for you, while employing a carer directly gives more control but makes you responsible for cover, payroll and insurance. Many families start with an agency for that reason.
