What is complex care?
Complex care describes long-term support for people with significant health needs, such as ventilation, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, spinal injury, acquired brain injury or advanced neurological conditions. It is usually delivered by trained carers with clinical oversight.
Can complex care be provided at home?
Yes. Many providers deliver complex care at home, including waking nights and 24-hour or live-in packages. Others provide it within a nursing home setting. Both types must be registered with the Care Quality Commission.
How is complex care funded?
